Basic First Aid + AED (CERT First Aider with CPR+AED)
Say the fire alarm goes off, or the coworker two desks over goes quiet and slides off their chair. Somebody has to move first. This course is built for whoever that ends up being: CERT teams, schools, organisations, families, volunteers, or anyone who’s decided “not me” isn’t good enough anymore.
It’s compressed on purpose. Enough first aid and AED skill, taught in a short enough window that you’d actually use it, not just remember taking it once. The CPR+AED module is accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC). The Basic First Aid module carries its accreditation from the Academy of First Aid.
Nobody signs up hoping to use it. But if the day ever comes, you’ll be glad it’s muscle memory instead of guesswork.

Course Highlights
- What a CERT member or first responder is actually on the hook for, and where that responsibility starts and stops
- How to put together a first aid kit that has what you'd reach for, not just what looks complete on a shelf
- The medical emergencies that actually show up at work and at home, and what to do about each one
- Carrying an injured person to safety with whatever's on hand, when there's no stretcher and no time to wait for one
- Adult CPR and AED use, drilled until it's not something you have to think your way through
Prerequisite Requirements
- A Secondary Two education, or ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5, is the recommended starting point
- The course involves real physical activity, including CPR, first aid, and carrying a casualty, so learners need to be physically and medically able to take part
- If you have a medical condition, a current injury, or are pregnant, check with your doctor before signing up
- The same goes for respiratory, orthopaedic, knee, spinal, or joint conditions: see a doctor first
- If you're pregnant, the recommendation is to wait until at least six weeks after delivery before attending

Assessment
Written
Multiple-choice assessment covering both the CPR+AED and Basic First Aid modules, with a minimum pass mark required for each component.
Practical
Hands-on practical assessment for both modules, with a retest opportunity available for candidates who do not pass on their first attempt.
